Recycling & Sustainability

English Tree Care are conscious of the environmental and social impacts that our operations have upon the local and wider environments. That's why we actively implement measures to identify and develop responsible use of resources in all areas of our business in order to reduce the impact of our activities on the environment.

The vast majority of 'green' waste material arising through our work is recycled wherever possible. Wood material is processed on site to form a biodegradable woodchip that is suitable for a variety of uses such as horticultural mulch or for soft play areas, for example. In the first instance, this material is offered to the client to reduce the output of haulage. If needed however, processed material can be transported back to our yard where it is stored, composted and re-utilized.

We source biodegradable lubricants and sulphur free alkylate petroleum fuels for use in our tools and are registered with the Environment Agency, holding a Waste Carriers Certificate to comply with legislation relating to the transportation of controlled waste.

Larger sized timber is generally transported back to our yard and processed with low quality converted into firewood to provide a natural fuel, whereas higher quality timber is entered into the 'added value' market for the creation of beams, furniture or for specialist turnery uses.
